South Africa celebrates National Shiraz Day on 21 August, and our The Manor restaurant in Paarl is gearing up to delight diners with an awesome food and wine pairing!
Forming part of the annual Seven Days of Shiraz & Venison showcase to honour this interesting grape cultivar, the pairing features beautifully prepared pistachio-crumbed venison fillet, potato gratin, green vegetables, spiced butternut purée and Shiraz jus, served with a glass of our deliciously juicy The Manor House Shiraz 2018.
“This dark, ruby-coloured wine has delectably dense, concentrated flavours of enveloping, warm herb-brushed black fruit and ripe plum, complemented by a touch of smokiness and oak spice. It’s rich and full-bodied with a firm structure, velvety tannins and a long finish, and a stunning match with game meat,” explains our red-winemaker, Zinaschke Steyn.
